How to prevent pirates from raiding your station?

Greetings SSC's,
Another raid has taken place on our station, the rations have been pillaged and we lost two men today.
Anyone know how to take preventative measures against pirates? Does our crew need to hire an Armed Guard or mercenary?
We are pacifists on this station and don't own any weapons that are ranked or modified!

We lost a lot of medical kits, valuable resources such as oxygen tanks that last dark moon cycles, and rivens? I don't know what that is...

I just want the pirates to stop Sad

Oh dear. You could hire the UAPO or form a garrison of some kind. Mercs will usually protect you if you pay them enough
